Míngyuè is Chinese for "moon," as the circular shape of this milky ivory white resembles a full moon at its brightest. We recommend it for all tea types, but most specifically for our ball-shaped oolongs. The 150 ml capacity is perhaps one of the most adaptable because it can accommodate both solo seances and also smaller groups. It pours beautifully and has the ideal balance. An absolute joy to work with. We just cannot say enough good things about porcelain as a tea-brewing material and about the superb design and craftsmanship that go into every piece of our Ivory Porcelain items here on our page. Contrary to the popular belief, porcelain is lightweight and durable, but you need to handle these items with great care. Another great property of porcelain in contrast to unfinished clay pots is that they will not alter the flavor of the tea. Porcelain functions as a mirror to reflect all of the flavors and fragrances from the leaves when preparing flavorful teas like high mountain oolongs. Goes without saying, this lovely pot is also handmade in Taiwan.
